I found a nice paying job I got all documents and all that's left was a medical drug test for job, I went and did that.. after couple of days they call my father and tell him that I was positive on morphine and opiates. Let me be clear I don't smoke weed or do any kind of drugs. I use creatine and I love sport drugs don't interest me. But still that stupid drug test shows that I am positive on that shit. There is no way I can prove them wrong. And that company that wanted me to do medical drug check doesn't want to let me to try again my drug test so now I'm unemployed because of that. I'm 20 years old and I live with parents who are angry and confused because of that situation. They think that I'm lying them. I can't change my situation and I feel so depressed.

It should be illegal for any job to demand such private information.

Could you please tell me how I would fight a drug test that is inaccurate? I’ve been on oxycodone for 10 years and I am 60 years old and for some reason my test came back as a positive for cocaine. Benadryl is the only different medication that I started on because of my allergies. I am so upset. I have complex regional pain syndrome, and now they want to take my medicine away from me. I need to know who to fight on this because there is no way that I would ever ever have cocaine in my system, and it really upsets me because this is going to be on my medical report now. And one final thing, the test they gave me was not a urine screening. It was some kind of mouth swab.

Add alcohol to a screening test. You can disqualify many more applicants.

Any company that randomly screens for THC, should also include random alcohol screens. I have worked directly with more alcoholics than marijuana users that work under the influence. By a huge margin.

Well my conclusion is this guy is full of shit. I tested positive for synthetic marijuana. I used synthetic marijuana once in my lifetime. That was almost 14 years ago. I have an injury atm stemming from an accident at work and have been taking ibuprofen regularly for over a week. NSAIDS are according to the web the most common drug to flag for a false positive.

I know for fact that my new hires have done this. I have had been told that they filled the 12 panel cup almost halfway with water and waited a few minutes. Then pee in the cup enough to change the color to a light yellow. They have always passed the tests.

bup is also in medications indicated for pain as is methadone. its illegal to discriminate against drugs addicts under ada btw. so, belbuca and BuTrans are medications with buprenorphine by itself (no nalaxone ) used for chronic pain and so an employer should not be alarmed.
